Unfunded Employee Post Employee Medical Benefits?
The City has a $5.5 billion unfunded liability for post employment benefits for employee health care after they retire. The City has not started funding the liability placing employee retirees (via potential lost benefits), taxpayers (through higher taxes) and residents (through reduced services) at risk for future impact. Yet the candidates are not speaking of their plans on this significant issue.
